Study Trip - North Wales

The Spring Study Weekend will be led by Dr Tessa Murdoch, Research Curator, The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Collection and Sara Heaton. We shall be staying in Llandudno and our programme includes visits to Mostyn Hall, Gwydir Castle, Bodrhyddan Hall and Erdigg. We will examine the slate furniture at Penrhyn the Neo-Norman castle built in 1819-35 by Thomas Hopper for George Dawkins Pennant, whose great-uncle Richard Pennant made a fortune from the slate mines of north-west Wales.

Private visits include the family home of Hartsheath, a secluded Georgian mansion alongside the river Alyn just outside Pontblyddyn.

This trip is now fully subscribed. Please contact the Events Secretary if you are interested in being put on the waiting list.
