MembershipChatsworth, Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1PP | 11am - 4pm
We are thrilled to announce a special self-funded day visit to Chatsworth, one of Britain's most celebrated historic houses and the ancestral seat of the Dukes of Devonshire.
Set in the stunning Derbyshire landscape, Chatsworth is home to exceptional historic interiors, beautifully maintained gardens and, of course, an outstanding collection of furniture and art. This visit provides the unique opportunity to explore the house and gardens at your own pace, but with the bonus of exclusive focused sessions led by Katherine, Chatsworth’s assistant curator and fellow ECD member, offering us a closer look at some special pieces.
N.B. House and garden entry tickets have been generously supported by the FHS, but travel and other related costs are not included and are self-funded.
However, if cost is a barrier to attending, we encourage you to get in touch with the Grants team, who are happy to discuss possibilities for individual support. The deadline for grant applications is the 31st July - please contact grants@furniturehistorysociety.com.
Group size: 15
Deadline: 6th August 2025
This visit is solely for members of the Early Career Development (ECD) group; however, attendance must be booked in advance. For more information, or to request access to the ECD WhatsApp group, please contact the Grants Secretary, grants@furniturehistorysociety.org, who will put you in touch with the coordinators.
