BIFMO-FHS: Online Seminar

BIFMO-FHS Digital Research Projects in Partnership with Chatsworth, Raby Castle and the Buccleuch Estate | Tuesday, 24 February 2026 | 17.00-19.00 (GMT) | 12.00-14.00 (EST)

An online seminar at which postgraduate students will present their research and showcase digital projects supported by the BIFMO-FHS Digital Research Programme 2025. The four projects explore different aspects of furniture and interior design across three historic houses: Chatsworth, Raby Castle and Montagu House, Whitehall - a former London residence of the Dukes of Buccleuch that no longer survives.

Working in small, collaborative groups, students from the UK and the US have developed online content to present their research on the following projects:

Chatsworth House |  Watercolour Interior Paintings of Chatsworth House and the Furniture of the Devonshire Collection

Raby Castle  |  Exotic Woods in the Furniture Collection at Raby Castle

The Buccleuch Estate  |  The Reconstruction of the Leverton-Atkinson dining room at Montagu House, Whitehall  [This formed two projects, with students reconstructing the dining room both in the 18th century and in the Regency period.]

The event is free, and a Zoom link will be sent out to members in an eblast.
