A talk exploring the life and achievements of Ambrose Heal, a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts and Chairman of the celebrated furnishers Heals.
The V&A Museum will shortly hold a talk detailing the work of Ambrose Heal by scholar and FHS Member Oliver Heal. Ambrose made well-made, well-designed furniture available to a broader public, was also pioneer of the Art Deco style, and exhibited works by Picasso and Modigliani in the Heals’ gallery. Under his auspices Heals became an international and iconic brand that has been hugely influential on the appearance of the modern interior.
The talk will be held in the The Lydia & Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre on Tuesday 17 November, 18.30 - 19.30.
